EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Maureen Danzig

Maureen Danzig had served as Executive Director during the 2016-2017 school year and has been reappointed as of July 2020. She served as a member of the Suffern Central School Board from 2010 to 2016, serving as the representative to RCSBA, the Advocacy Committee Chairperson and Vice President during the 2014-2015 School Year. Mrs. Danzig is an EDDY Award recipient from RCSBA and a Board Lifetime Achievement recipient from NYSSBA.

Mrs. Danzig has a BS in Technology from Kean University, an MA in Special Education from Long Island University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from SUNY New Paltz and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Work Based Learning from Buffalo State University. She has been a Special Education Teacher with Rockland BOCES since 2004, currently as a Work Based Learning Coordinator. Mrs. Danzig is a resident of the Village of Montebello where she lives with her husband, two children and one perfect dog.

OFFICERS

PRESIDENT: Deborah Gatti

Ms. Gatti is currently serving as president of RCSBA, previously having served as President during the 2011-2013 school years. Ms. Gatti was appointed to the Rockland BOCES Board of Education in 2016 and has served on the North Rockland Central School District Board of Education since 2005. She is currently an administrative assistant at Robert A. Lenahan Architects. Mrs. Gatti previously worked for 13 years as Village Clerk for the Village of Haverstraw. President of the Haverstraw-Stony Point School Board of Education (2009-2013) and Haverstraw-Stony Point PTA Council President (1998-2005). 

VICE PRESIDENT: Sabrina Charles-Pierre

Sabrina Charles-Pierre has been a representative to Rockland County School Board Association since 2020. She has been a member of the East Ramapo Central School District Board of Education since 2015, serving as its Vice-President since 2019. Ms. Charles-Pierre was appointed to the Rockland BOCES Board of Education in 2020. Ms. Charles-Pierre was born and raised in Spring Valley and is a proud graduate of East Ramapo school. She works in the Economic Mobility and Workforce Innovation department at Rockland Community College . In 2020, Ms. Charles-Pierre received the Mid-Hudson School Study Council Award for Excellence in School Board Service. In 2021, Ms. Charles-Pierre was nominated to serve on the New York State School Board’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She serves on the Rockland Community College Paralegal Studies Advisory Board and she is the Secretary of the National Haitian American Elected Official Network (NHAEON). Ms. Charles-Pierre earned an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies from Rockland Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Child Protection and Juvenile Justice from Bellevue University. Ms. Charles-Pierre is a fierce advocate for fair and equitable educational opportunities for all children.

SECRETARY: Christine Camilleri

Christine Camillieri has been a resident of the Nanuet School District for over 20 years and is raising three children in the community with her husband Joseph.  She has one student in the District and two sons who are graduates of Nanuet High School; her oldest attended Binghamton University and her second oldest attended the University of Connecticut. Christine has always been involved with the PTA and has been part of various committees, holding the position of Cultural Arts Chairperson for several years. She has also held the positions of PTA Council President and Vice President, as well as HSPTSA Co-President.  As a former teacher, Christine has enjoyed being class parent for each of her children, being involved in district committees and supporting the Boy Scouts, Black and Gold Club and Nanuet Music Parents Association. 

TREASURER: Peggy Zugibe

Peggy Zugibe has been a representative to the Rockland County School Board Association for 18 years and served as president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary during her tenure. She has been a member of the North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) School Board since 1993 where she served as both the board president and vice president. Ms. Zugibe has chaired the steering committee of the Hudson-Long Island Coalition for Responsible State Funding of Education since 2001.  Ms. Zugibe is a member of the North Rockland Rotary Club and served as the group's president in 2003 and 2004. She is also a board member of the United Way of Rockland County, and is a member of the joint policy committee of the Lower-Hudson Education Coalition and the Mid-Hudson School Study Council. In 2000, Zugibe received the Mid-Hudson School Study Council Award for Excellence in School Board Service and was presented an EDDY Award for outstanding educational service from the Rockland County School Boards Association in 2004. Zugibe has a bachelor's degree in teaching the speech and hearing impaired from Mercy College and a master's degree in special education from the College of New Rochelle. Zugibe and her husband Tom reside in Garnerville and have four children. Peggy is currently the NYSSBA Board President.

PAST PRESIDENT: Sandi Jeanette


Sandi Jeanette has been a member of the Rockland BOCES Board of Education since 2007 (representing the Suffern Central School District) and has served as both its Vice President and President.  She was also on the Suffern Central Board of Education for 9 years.   In 2021, Sandi retired as Worksite Wellness Coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, following her previous position as Rockland County Director of the American Heart Association.


Before entering the field of healthcare, Sandi was an educator in the New York public school system at both the elementary and secondary levels, including time spent as an ESL instructor at Rockland Community College. 


In 2017, Sandi received the Mid-Hudson School Study Council Award for Excellence in School Board Service. She is currently president of the Rockland County School Boards Association (RCSBA) and was presented with their EDDY Award for Excellence in Education in 2022 and the RCSBA Hall of Fame in 2023. 


Sandi represents the RCSBA on the Steering Committee of the Lower Hudson Education Coalition, and is also a member of the Suffern Rotary.
